Tied 2-2 after the second period, Eric Hunter and Peter MacArthur gave the Monsters a 4-2 lead over Milwaukee midway through the third on Friday. Then the Admirals took over, scoring twice in the span of less than one minute later in the third, to force overtime.

Milwaukee scored at 2:44 of the extra session to take the 5-4 win.

Patrick Rissmiller scored for the Monsters in the first period, Greg Mauldin in the second.

Cedrick Desjardins finished the night with 37 saves on 42 shots.
