Round 3: Monsters and Marlies

MATCHUP
For the third consecutive game, the Lake Erie Monsters (27-27-2-7) will meet this Toronto Marlies, and the Monsters will hope the third time is the charm against the North Division leaders, who have taken two games from the Monsters in less than a week. The Monsters have currently lost four straight games- just the second time this season the Monsters have lost four straight games in regulation- while Toronto has won its last four games. The two teams met Sunday, with Toronto prevailing by a 5-3 score.

LAST TIME OUT
The last game for each team was a St. Patrick's Day tilt that wasn't decided until the final two minutes, when Jerry D'Amigo scored twice for the Marlies to seal a 5-3 Toronto win. The Monsters trailed 3-2 entering the third period against a Toronto team that's 26-0-1-1 when leading after 40 minutes, and a Tyson Barrie goal tied the game at 3-3-3 before D'Amigo struck with the difference-maker late in the game. Barrie led the way for the Monsters with two points; his eighth multi-point game this season. Andrew Agozzino and Stefan Elliott each scored power play goals for the Monsters in the second period.

WHO TO WATCH: MONSTERS
Agozzino paces the Monsters with nine points on two goals and seven assists in six games against Toronto this season; he'll be relied upon for production once again. Agozzino's goal on Sunday came with under four seconds remaining in the second period.

WHO TO WATCH: MARLIES
Toronto captain Ryan Hamilton is tied for second in the AHL with 29 goals, and leads Toronto with four goals and two assists for six points in six games against the Monsters this season. With four goals over his last two games, Monsters defensemen will need to keep an eye on the Marlies' number 12.
