For the second time this year, the Lake Erie Monsters will play back-to-back-to-back games over the weekend, traveling to Toronto Friday night for a 7:00 game and returning to host the Rochester Americans at Quicken Loans Arena Saturday night at 7:30 p.m. and hosting Peoria Sunday afternoon at 5:00 p.m.

The team hosted the Peoria Rivermen Wednesday night, getting its first win against the team in franchise history with a 3-2 victory. Forward Jesse Boulerice assisted on Codey Burki’s goal in the first period and scored the game-winner. Forward J.D. Corbin recorded his first goal of the season with the Monsters down a man. It was the team’s second shorthanded tally of the year. Goaltender Jason Bacashihua made 20 saves on the way to recording his third win of the season.

The Monsters and goaltender Tyler Weiman are 3-0 against their Friday night foe, the Toronto Marlies. Weiman recorded both his and the team’s first shutout of the season November 1st in Toronto with a 37 save effort. The game was also the Monsters first road win of the season.

On Saturday, the Monsters welcome the Rochester Americans to Quicken Loans Arena. In their only game so far this season against their North Division rival, the Monsters lost, 2-1, November 28th at Blue Cross Arena. The game is the second of six meetings between the teams. Currently, Rochester is in seventh place in the North Division, trailing Lake Erie by seven points.

Sunday afternoon marks the last of four regular season meetings between Lake Erie and the Peoria Rivermen. The Monsters are 1-2 against the Rivermen, dropping a pair of back-to-back games in Peoria by the same 5-2 final on October 25th and 26th. Last season, the Monsters were 0-3-0-1 against Peoria.

Forward Chris Stewart, called up to Colorado December 5th, scored his first National Hockey League goal and recorded an assist December 9th against the Los Angeles Kings. Forward Phil Dupuis was called up to Colorado Thursday afternoon.

After this weekend, the Monsters will only have one home game before the New Year as Toronto will come to The Q on December 26th for a 7:30 game. The team will play seven of their next eight games on the road.
