17: The Monsters set a franchise record on March 7 against Rochester when defenseman Derek Peltier scored just 17 seconds into the contest, the fastest goal to start a game in Monsters history.

15: The Colorado Avalanche, Lake Erie’s NHL affiliate, called up 15 players from the Monsters roster during the season.

14: Of the 15 players called up, 14 saw action for the Avs. That number was the highest number of call-ups in the NHL this season to see action.

13: The Monsters combined with the Syracuse Crunch to tally 13 total goals in a single game, setting a franchise mark on March 28th. Lake Erie lost the game, however, 8-5.

11: Eleven players – Chris Durno, Phil Dupuis, T.J. Galiardi, Matt Hendricks, Per Ledin, Ray Macias, Aaron MacKenzie, Wes O’Neill, Derek Peltier, Chris Stewart and Mike Vernace – all made their NHL debuts this season. The number was an Avs record for the most call-ups making their NHL debut in one season.

5: From January 31st to February 28th, the Monsters recorded five straight wins at home, setting a franchise mark.

3: Three call-ups – Galiardi, Macias and Stewart – registered their first NHL points this season, as Galiardi and Stewart recorded their first goals while Macias picked up his first point in the NHL in the form of an assist. Stewart’s first NHL goal came against Los Angeles on December 9th; Galiardi recorded his first NHL tally on March 27th versus Vancouver; and Macias recorded his first point in the NHL, an assist, on April 9th against Dallas.

3: Stewart’s three goals in the November 9th game against Hamilton were the most by a Monsters player in a single game this season.

3: Defenseman Kyle Cumiskey recorded three assists on November 9th against Hamilton, a number that was the most helpers by a Monsters player in a single game this season.

2: The Monsters had two players –  Cumiskey and Weiman – represent the organization in the 2009 AHL All-Star Game. Both suited up for the Canadian All-Star Team.

1: Monsters head coach Joe Sacco was named an assistant coach with Team USA at the International Ice Hockey Federation’s World Championships from April 24th to May 10th in Berne and Zurich-Kloten, Switzerland. The tournament represents the first time Sacco will coach a USA hockey team.

1: Bacashihua became the first Monster to win AHL Player of the Week honors, as he earned the crystal-etched award for the week ending March 1st. In the seven-day span, Bacashihua was a perfect 3-0 with two shutouts to go with a 0.65 GAA and a 0.973 save percentage.

0.915: Weiman set a franchise record this season with a 0.915 save percentage this season.

0.905: Bacashihua’s 0.905 save percentage was the exact same number he totaled last year with the Monsters.
