He made an immediate impact on the Monsters’ blue line, playing a critical role as one of the team’s top defenders during their playoff run.

Belle, who was originally drafted by the St. Louis Blues in the first round (30th overall) of the 2003 NHL Entry Draft, has spent parts of the last six seasons in the AHL, while he has totaled 20 NHL games during that time.

Through 12 regular-season games with the Monsters this season, Belle posted six points (3G, 3A) and eight penalty minutes, before notching three assists in seven playoff outings.

He also saw time with parent club Colorado, recording two penalty minutes in four games played.

Prior to joining the Monsters, Belle went scoreless in five games with the Edmonton Oilers, while he posted 20 points (3G, 17A) in 39 games with their primary affiliate, the Oklahoma City Barons.

March 11, 2011: Recorded his first point as a Monster, an assist, during a 4-2 victory in Hamilton.

March 12, 2011: Scored his first goal as a Monster – which also marked his first set of back-to-back points (1G, 1A) – in a 3-2 triumph over Toronto.

April 2 – April 6, 2011: Recorded three points (1G, 2A) in two games, helping the Monsters to a pair of victories over Toronto.
