Recently, on multiple occasions, Monsters players Cedrick Desjardins, Mark Olver, Evan Brophey and Eric Hunter and staff took time out of their busy schedules to have some fun with a few kids from the YMCA Greater Cleveland. During the Charter One "Take the Ice" event, kids were able to come to The Q, listen to players talk about their life and career, and even got to skate with the pros!

In-game host Olivier Sedra started the event with a fun question-and-answer portion, followed by a few videos on Q-Tube - including the pregame player intros and how the arena crews turn the building from a hockey game into a basketball game.

The players then came on and talked to the kids about who their role models were growing up and how important staying in school is, among other things.

After the brief presentation, the kids laced up the skates and stepped onto the ice with the Monsters players.
