Monsters, Bulldogs in Saturday Matchup

MATCHUP
With a season-best four-game win streak on the line, the Lake Erie Monsters (23-16-2-1) will meet the Hamilton Bulldogs (13-21-1-5) tonight at Quicken Loans Arena, and the puck will drop at 7:30 PM. The game will mark the fifth meeting of the season between the two teams, and the Monsters are 3-1-0-0 against Hamilton this season and 10-2-0-0 against the Bulldogs since the start of the 2011-12 season. The Monsters are 8-2-0-0 over their last 10 games and are coming off a 4-3 overtime win at home over Toronto on Thursday, while Hamilton is 2-5-0-3 over their last 10 games and last played in a 6-3 loss in Rochester on Monday.

LAST TIME OUT
Thursday night, the Monsters began a four-game homestand with a 4-3 overtime win over Toronto. The Monsters trailed on two occasions in the game, but were able to erase both one-goal deficits before Mike Sgarbossa netted the game-winning goal 51 seconds into overtime. Sgarbossa scored twice and added an assist for his third three-point game of the season. Thomas Pock and David van der Gulik also scored for the Monsters, while Andrew Agozzino had three assists and Bill Thomas had a pair of helpers.

WHO TO WATCH: MONSTERS
With the team playing very consistently on offense lately, winning four straight, several players have been contributing frequently on the scoresheet. Agozzino, however, has been the model of consistency for the Monsters, dating back more than a month. Agozzino's three assists Thursday gave him nine multi-point games on the season- a mark that ties Sgarbossa for the most on the team- and gives the rookie forward 15 assists and 20 points over his last 17 games. Agozzino is also a team-leading plus-15 on the season after posting a plus-two rating on Thursday.

WHO TO WATCH: HAMILTON
Gabriel Dumont- although he has just one point in four games against the Monsters this season- is Hamilton's all-star representative, a tenacious forechecker, and perhaps the most offensively dangerous player in the 'dogs group of forwards. Monday night, Dumont had a four-game point streak snap, and he has three goals and five points over his last six games.
