Monsters Head North to Challenge Marlies

MATCHUP
Following back-to-back regulation losses against Grand Rapids on Saturday and Peoria on Thursday, the Lake Erie Monsters (27-25-2-7) will hit the ice tonight at 7:00 for a road game against the North Division-leading Toronto Marlies (31-20-2-4); a team the Monsters have topped in three of four meetings this season. The Monsters lost 2-1 in Grand Rapids on Saturday, while Toronto scored a 4-1 home win over Peoria Sunday. The Marlies have won five of seven games. Tonight marks the first of three consecutive games against Toronto for the Monsters.

LAST TIME OUT
Calvin Pickard made his ninth start in 10 games for the Monsters and turned away 26 of 28 shots, but the Monsters fell in Grand Rapids by a 2-1 score on Saturday. Thomas Pock scored the Monsters only goal in the third period, while Mike Sgarbossa and Markus Lauridsen collected assists. The Monsters are winless in three tries against Grand Rapids this season.

WHO TO WATCH: MONSTERS
Sgarbossa has four goals and nine assists for 13 points over his last 10 games played for the Monsters. Sgarbossa, who is tied with Andrew Agozzino for the team scoring lead with 41 points, also has seven points in four games against Toronto this season.

WHO TO WATCH: MARLIES
Greg McKegg has five assists on his three-game assist streak, and has a goal and five assists over his last five games. McKegg was a third round draft choice of the Toronto Maple Leafs in 2010.
