Home-and-Home Series with Bulldogs

MATCHUP
In a home-and-home series, the Lake Erie Monsters (32-30-3-7) will hit the ice against the Hamilton Bulldogs (28-36-1-5) for the seventh and eighth of eight total meetings between the teams this season. Friday’s game is in Hamilton, while Saturday’s game is in Cleveland; each game starts at 7:30 PM. The Monsters are coming off a 5-4 overtime win over Syracuse on Tuesday, and have won three straight games. Hamilton lost 2-0 in Houston on Sunday, but has won two of its last three contests. The last time the Monsters and Bulldogs met, Hamilton won 2-0 at The Q on March 2. Entering the weekend, each team holds a record of 3-2-0-1 through six meetings.

LAST TIME OUT
In a game that featured four lead changes, the Monsters scored last – in overtime – to end Tuesday’s 5-4 affair against Syracuse. Luke Walker scored the overtime winner, giving him 10 goals on the season. Tomas Vincour scored twice for the Monsters, while Bill Thomas and Mike Connolly also scored goals. Kent Patterson earned his first AHL victory in net.

WHO TO WATCH: MONSTERS
Vincour has now played two games with the Monsters, and has three goals and an assist for four points. He’s seeing time, and finding the scoresheet, in all phases of the game. His 6’3” frame and scoring touch have added a new dimension to the Monsters offensive attack.

WHO TO WATCH: BULLDOGS
No player on the Bulldogs active roster has more than one point against the Monsters this season, but Patrick Holland has a goal and three points over his last three games for Hamilton. The first-year pro is coming off a 100-point season in the Western Hockey League last season, and is adjusting to the AHL game.

TUNE IN
All of Friday and Saturday night’s action can be heard live on AM 1220 WHKW with Doug Plagens on the play-by-play. Friday’s game will be in Hamilton, while Saturday’s game will be in Cleveland.
