The Lake Erie Monsters welcome the Toronto Marlies to Quicken Loans Arena for the second time this season on Friday for a 7:30 p.m. tilt. The first 5,000 fans through the turnstiles will receive a Monsters Reversible Ski Hat, presented by Ohio Natural Gas. The game is also a Dollar Dog Night, with hot dogs and all 16 oz. Pepsi products being sold for $1, courtesy of Sugardale, Pepsi and FOX Sports Ohio. 
    
Friday’s game will be one of high importance, as the Monsters and Marlies are tied for sixth place in the North Division with 15 points each. In their first game against Toronto this season – November 6th at The Q – the Monsters dropped a 3-2 contest to the Marlies. Rookie forwards Brock Bradford and Ryan Stoa bookended the game with goals as the team came up just a tally short. Usual to his all star form, goalie Tyler Weiman performed well, turning away 26 of 28 shots. 
    
Some other items to note for Friday’s game:

• A key for the Monsters will be to slow down Toronto rookie forward Christian Hanson, who is currently tied for fourth among AHL rookies with 13 points (5G, 8A).
• The Marlies have been outscored 30-17 and hold a 2-5-0-2 record away from the Ricoh Coliseum so far this season.
• Toronto has been outscored 24-8 in the second period this season.
• Averaging 27.6 penalty minutes per game, the Marlies are the AHL’s fourth-most penalized team.

Last season the Monsters were 5-1-1-1 against the Marlies and the team holds an all time mark of 7-8-1-1 against their North Division rivals. The Monsters wrap up a home-and-home set with the Marlies on Sunday, when they travel to the Ricoh Coliseum for the first of four road games in Toronto this season.
