After a scoreless first period, Ben Walter put Lake Erie up 1-0 at 3:50 of the middle frame, taking an assist from Ryan Stoa.

At 8:18 of the third period, Patrick Rissmiller scored the eventual game-winner with a power play tally that was assisted by David van der Gulik and Stoa.

Stoa finished a three-point night by putting the Monsters on top 3-0 at 12:07 of the period.

Aaron Gagnon scored the lone goal of the game for Texas, lighting the lamp at 17:20 of the third. Gagnon was assisted by Francis Wathier.

Lake Erie’s power play went 1-for-4 in the game, while the Stars were 0-for-3 on the man advantage.

John Grahame kicked aside 18 of 19 shots faced.

At the other end, Richard Bachman stopped 26 of 29 shots.

Texas enters tonight’s contest with a 29-17-3-3 record (64 pts), good for fifth place in the West Division.
