In his first five AHL games, Chouinard posted six points (3G, 3A), two of which came in power play situations (1G, 1A).

Due to injury, he missed 42 regular season games but suited up for 35 contests for the Monsters this year, totaling 17 points (8G, 9A).

Prior to the 2010-11 season, the 21-year-old native of Longueuil, Quebec spent three years developing his abilities with the Victoriaville Tigres of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL). In his final season with Victoriaville, Chouinard led QMJHL defensemen with 23 goals and finished second in scoring with 68 points in 65 games.

Chouinard was Colorado’s fifth selection (6th Round, 167th Overall) in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft.

October 31, 2010: Scored his first goal of the season, the game-winning tally in a 2-0 victory over Manitoba that marked the Monsters’ first shutout of the season.

November 7, 2010: Concluded a five-game point streak with a goal during Lake Erie’s 4-3 shootout loss to Grand Rapids.

February 14 – February 18, 2011: Ran a three-game point streak (2G, 1A) in helping the Monsters post three consecutive victories.
