Back to North Division Action TonightTweet01/24/2012 9:24 AM
Brad Malone scored the Monsters only goal on Saturday, and he will look to use that in jumpstarting the Monsters offensive attack as they prepare for three straight home games against North Division opponents. Malone has a goal and three points in two games this season against Hamilton, and the Monsters will see the Bulldogs twice this week: tonight and Saturday night. Tyson Barrie assisted on Malone's goal Saturday, building on his team lead in points. Barrie continues to pace the Monsters with 26 points on the season. Malone's goal on Saturday was a power play goal, which came on the heels of consecutive games in which the Monsters power play failed to score. The Monsters power play is now three-for-17 over its last four games. Aaron Palushaj remains a player to watch for the Hamilton Bulldogs. Despite multiple call-ups to Hamilton's parent club, the Montreal Canadiens, this season, Palushaj has managed to lead the Bulldogs in points with 27 points in 26 games. He also has a goal and an assist in three games against the Monsters this season. The Monsters and Bulldogs have gone in opposite directions over each team's last 10 games. The Monsters are 3-6-0-1 in their last 10, while the Bulldogs are 6-3-1-0 over their last 10 games. Hamilton is 5-3-0-0 since the beginning of the new year. Since falling in six straight games from November 15th to December 2nd, Hamilton has a record of 12-5-0-3 in 20 games. The Monsters and Bulldogs will see each other tonight at 7:00 PM and Saturday at 7:30 PM (Note the change from the original start time for Saturday's game). The Monsters also play Toronto Thursday, with the puck slated to drop at 7:00 PM. |
