Saturday’s Rematch

Olver opened the scoring just 7:49 into the game, before Ryan Stoa ended the first period with a power play goal at the 19:17 mark. Patrick Rissmiller assisted both goals for his first multi-point game of the season as a Monster.

After a scoreless middle frame, the Barons quickly evened the score at 2-2 in the third period. Jeff Petry scored just 36 seconds into the period, before he set up Brad Moran with the game-tying goal at 3:42.

Ben Walter scored at 4:20 and Kevin Montgomery added a power play tally 7:38 to regain Lake Erie’s two-goal lead.

The Barons cut their deficit in half at the 10:19 mark, but Stoa finalized a 5-3 score sheet with his second power play goal of the night.

Including his first goal of the season in the third period, Montgomery has recorded seven points in his last eight games (1G, 7A).

Olver assisted Montgomery for his ninth point (6G, 3A) in his last eight games and he leads the Monsters in goals (9) and points (17).
