Saying Tip-a-Monster was different this year is a bold understatement. Everything about the setting, the antics and the items auctioned off were unlike anyone has ever seen before.

This year’s Tip-a-Monster was held at The Q, instead of the usual restaurant, which provided more freedom and more memorable moments for everyone involved.

Tip-a-Monster started out with the Monsters, themselves, serving 120 guests in attendance food and drinks, bussing tables and washing dishes to raise money for the Hunger Network.

After the players served their guests dinner, several items were auctioned off to the highest bidder including:

- A Ryan Stoa Browns themed Monsters jersey
- A Patrick Bordeleau game worn jersey
- Coach with Quinn Experience
- A Suite for the Keith Urban concert

Following the auction, the Monsters used their imaginations to help raise as much money as possible for the Hunger Network:

- Travis Gawryletz, Mike Carman and Luke Walker all let fans style their hair in the form of pigtails and French braids
- Patrick “Bordy” Bordeleau gave, rookie, Mark Olver a piggy-back-ride around the practice court
- Several players formed a cheerleading pyramid
- A fan took a picture with all of the Canadian Monsters
- Julien Brouillette and Patrick Bordeleau promised to shave their heads after Friday’s game vs. Rockford
- Ray Macias did “The Dougie”
- Fans also tipped for autographs, photos with individual players and the aprons the Monsters were wearing

The Lake Erie Monsters raised around $6,000 for the Hunger Network, which is the most ever raised at a Tip-a-Monster event.
