The last time the Monsters took the ice prior to Thursday, they defeated the Admirals in Milwaukee by a 3-2 score in overtime. Thursday night, it was again a 3-2 overtime result, but unfortunately for Lake Erie, they were on the losing end this time. Justin Mercier and Cameron both scored in the third period to force overtime, before former Monster Chris Mueller converted a penalty shot to give the Admirals the win. Trevor Cann posted 21 saves on 24 shots in 63:21 in net.
