Monsters Look to Bounce Back Saturday

MATCHUP:
After Sunday’s 4-1 win in Hamilton, the Lake Erie Monsters (10-7-1-1) are looking to collect a point in a third straight game; a streak that would tie a season-long.  The Monsters snapped a five-game winless streak with the victory in Hamilton.  Friday and Saturday night’s opponent is the San Antonio Rampage (5-10-0-3), who are coming off a 4-2 victory Wednesday in Rochester; the team’s first road victory on the season.  San Antonio is 1-6-0-2 over their last nine contests.

LAST TIME OUT:
Sunday, the Monsters topped the Hamilton Bulldogs by a 4-1 score, and never trailed.  Four different Monsters scored in the win, Bill Thomas and Mark Olver each had a goal and an assist, and Karl Stollery picked up a helper, giving him four assists over his last four games.  Sami Aittokallio earned his fifth win of the season in net, stopping a career-best 42-of-43 shots.  The Monsters are now 8-1-0-0 against Hamilton since the start of last season.

WHO TO WATCH: MONSTERS
Thomas earned his first multi-point game of the season in Sunday’s win, and also registered the eventual game-winning tally late in the first period.  Thomas has spent parts of three seasons with San Antonio during his career, so he’s certainly a candidate to have a big weekend against his old team.

WHO TO WATCH: RAMPAGE
Jon Rheault leads San Antonio with six goals and 15 points through 18 games, while the Rampage has scored the third-fewest goals in the Western Conference.  The one-time member of the Abbotsford Heat has found ways to get the job done at every stop of his professional career, and has a goal and four assists over his last two games.  After registering just two assists over his first seven games this season, Rheault has six goals and 13 points over his last 11 games.

TUNE IN:
The Monsters begin three games in three days tonight, and all the action can be heard beginning at 7:30 PM live from Quicken Loans Arena on AM 1220 WHKW.  Saturday’s game begins at 1:00 PM, and can be heard live on ESPN 850 WKNR.
