After the Lake Erie goal, the scored remained 5-1 through the end of the second.
The Monsters got off twice as many shots (15-7) as the home team in the third period, but could not manage to find the back of the net. The Marlies lit the lamp one last time with Ondrus' goal at the 10:38 mark, completing his hat trick for the night. He was assisted by Earl.
