Who will be the next T.J. Hensick, Cody McCormick, or Tyler Weiman? The
2008 NHL Entry Draft is this weekend, when 211 hopefuls will find a home with a big league team. The parent club of the Monsters - the Colorado Avalanche - has six picks in this year's Draft, which means six players that could potentially find themselves in a Lake Erie uniform in the near future.
The first round of the Draft will be this Friday, June 20th at the Scotiabank Place in Ottawa. The remaining six rounds will take place the following day, on Saturday. The Avalanche will not do any selecting on Friday, as they do not have any first round picks. Here is how the Avs will select in 2008:
Second Round, 50th overall
Fourth Round, 110th overall
Fifth Round, 140th overall
Sixth Round, 167th (from Boston) and 170th overall
Seventh Round, 200th overall
