2 - Wes O’Neill - D: Spent the majority of last season with the Monsters. While with the Monsters, O’Neill recorded six points (1G, 5A). O’Neill also made his NHL debut last season with the Colorado Avalanche, playing in three games and registering four penalty minutes.
4 - Brett Skinner – D: Skinner played for both Bridgeport and Chicago of the AHL last season. Between the two teams Skinner appeared in 61 games and tallied 35 points (4G, 31A). Skinner made his NHL debut with the New York Islanders playing in 11 games and recording four penalty minutes.
5 - Brian Fahey - D: Fahey spent all of 2008-09 with the Hartford Wolf Pack. With the Wolf Pack Fahey played in 66 games and recorded 24 points (4G, 20A). Fahey also played in five playoff games with Hartford, recording one assist.
6 - Derek Peltier – D: Peltier spent most of last season with the Monsters before being recalled to the Avalanche where he made his NHL debut, appearing in 11 games. Peltier appeared in 63 games with Lake Erie and finished second in scoring among defenseman with 19 points (2G, 17A).
9 - Phil Dupuis - C: Spent the majority of last season with the Monsters, but made NHL debut with the Avalanche playing in eight games. In 67 games, Dupuis was the Monsters’ leading scorer with 46 points (17G, 29A). His 17 goals were good for second on the team.
18 - Brian Willsie – RW: Willsie began the season with the Monsters, registering 14 points (8G, 6A) in 12 games. Was then recalled to Colorado, played in 42 games, posting four points (1G, 3A).
20 - Darren Haydar - RW: Spent 2008-09 with the Grand Rapids Griffins and appeared in 79 regular season games. Haydar led the Griffins with 80 points (31G, 49A). His 80 points were sixth in the AHL. Haydar also played in 10 playoff games with Grand Rapids, tallying 11 points (4G, 7A).
25 - Chris Durno – LW: Durno spent most of last season with the Monsters, playing 76 games with Lake Erie. Durno led the Monsters in goals (18) and penalty minutes (131) and also finished second in assists (27) and points (45). Durno also made his NHL debut and played in two games with the Avalanche.
26 - Marty Sertich - C: Sertich was with the Monsters last year, but was limited due to injury. He appeared in 24 games with the Monsters and recorded 15 points (7G, 8A) and 22 penalty minutes.
30 - Tyler Weiman – G: Weiman appeared in 44 games for the Monsters where he led the team in wins (21), goals against average (2.46), and save percentage (.915). He also led the AHL in shutouts with eight. Weiman was selected to the Canadian AHL All-Star team.
35 - Trevor Cann - G: Split time between the Peterborough Petes (OHL) and London Knights (OHL). Combined, Cann played in 52 games and had a 35-15-0-1 record. Cann finished second in the OHL in shutouts with six. He also represented Team Canada in the Canada-Russia Challenge where he recorded one victory.
38 - Codey Burki – C: Started the season with Johnstown (ECHL) but was recalled by Lake Erie where he finished the season. Burki appeared in 54 games with the Monsters and recorded 19 points (9G, 10A) and 32 penalty minutes.
43 - Justin Mercier - C: Mercier played for the Miami University (Ohio) Redhawks, where he played in 40 games. He tallied 29 points (14G, 15G), which was fourth on the team, and helped Miami advance to the National Championship game. He was named the West Regional’s Most Outstanding Player and also named to College Hockey’s Preseason All-America Third Team.
44 - Ryan Wilson – D: Started the season with Quad City, appearing in 60 games prior to being acquired by Lake Erie. With Quad City, Wilson recorded 20 points (4G, 16A), which was second on the team among defenseman. In his time with the Monsters, Wilson played in eight games and recorded two assists.
47 - Ray Macias - D: Macias spent time with Johnstown (ECHL), Lake Erie, and Colorado last season. He spent the majority of the season with the Monsters. Macias finished second among Monsters defenseman in assists (15) and third in points (18). Made his NHL debut, playing in six games with Colorado he also scored his first NHL point with an assist.
49 - Cedric McNicoll - C: Played in 65 games with Shawinigan (QMJHL) and was named to the QMJHL First All-Star Team. McNicoll finished third in scoring in the QMJHL with 104 points (38G, 66A). He also had a league best +61 plus/minus rating.
51 - Tom Fritsche - LW: Fritsche spent last season with Lake Erie. He played in 48 games with the Monsters and tallied 20 points (10G, 10A). He finished tied for fifth on the team in goals and was seventh in points.
53 - Josh Aspenlind – RW: Split time between Elmira (ECHL), Binghamton (AHL), and Lake Erie. Played the most with Elmira, appearing in 45 games and recording 37 points (14G, 23A). Despite only spending half of the season with Elmira, he finished tied for fifth on the team in goals. Appeared in 27 games with Lake Erie and scored two points (1G, 1A).
56 - Kevin Montgomery - D: Began the season with the Monsters but was sent back to London (OHL). Montgomery played in 46 games for the Knights and scored two goals. He finished second on the team among defenseman in assists (34) and points (36). Also played in 14 playoff games with London, picking up four assists.
58 - Patrick Bordeleau – LW: Spent parts of last season with five different teams in the AHL and ECHL, but appeared the most with Augusta (ECHL) and Florida (ECHL). Appeared in a combined 47 games in the ECHL and scored 23 points (8G, 15A). In a combined 15 games in the AHL, he tallied three assists and 42 penalty minutes.
61 - David Marshall - RW: Played his senior season at Quinnipiac University (ECAC) before signing a pro contract with the Monsters. Marshall led Quinnipiac in goals (22) and finished second on the team in points (46). He also finished tenth in the nation in points per game (1.21). Marshall played in nine games with Lake Erie and recorded five points (2G, 3A).
