Thank You Fans!Tweet04/10/2010 10:10 PM
On Saturday, the Lake Erie Monsters finished off their third season in the AHL. If there is one thing the team has established in those three years, it’s that Cleveland has proven to be home to the greatest fans in the AHL.
Over the past two years, the Monsters have had two of the 15-highest attended games in the league’s 74-year regular season history. This season, on January 22nd, the Monsters played in front of 18,626 screaming Monsters fans during Shaq bobblehead night, ranking sixth on the all-time attendance list. Last season, The Q held 17,627 crazed hockey fanatics during Fan Appreciation Night, making it the 13th-highest attended AHL regular season game. These are spectacular numbers for a franchise that has only been in existence for three years. This year Lake Erie has had extraordinary crowds come to The Q to show their Monsters pride. The Monsters rank sixth in the entire AHL for average attendance in the 2009-10 regular season. Saturday, the organization expressed their thanks to these unbelievable fans with another Fan Appreciation night. The fans have experienced an exciting season which included: wins and losses, shootout victories, pink ice, celebrity appearances, an Olympic tribute and everything in between. The Lake Erie Monsters organization would like to take this time to thank the fans for being a part of a memorable third season in the franchise’s history. |
