Monsters and Cavs Model at Benefit ShowTweet10/11/2010 10:51 AM
“We are so appreciative of the Cavs support,” said Flashes of Hope founder Allison Clarke. “The kids really enjoyed spending time with the players. It was such a highlight to each and every one of them. Without the support of the teams, the event would not have been the success that it was.” Gilbert and Cavs players Mo Williams, Daniel Gibson, J.J. Hickson, Antawn Jamison, Jamario Moon, Christian Eyenga, Joey Graham, Danny Green, Ryan Hollins, Anthony Parker, Leon Powe, Samardo Samuels, Ramon Sessions and Jawad Williams along with Monsters players Jason Bacashihua, Justin Mercier, Travis Gawryletz, Matt Ford, John Grahame and Greg Mauldin participated in the event. All the models wore the latest fashions from many well-known Cleveland-based fashion boutiques like Alberts Furs, Ann van H. Boutique, Bonnie’s Goubaud, Girl Next Door, Juicy Lucy, Kilgore Trout, Lisa Moran, Nicky Nicole and Ticknor’s, as well as national designers like Louis Vuitton and Tom James. “Big Shot” Cavs forward Jawad Williams, a Cleveland native, walked with 16 year-old Jennifer Reihner of Madison, Ohio. She loved the dress she modeled so much she plans to wear it to her homecoming dance next month. The Cavaliers’ own in-arena hosts Ahmaad Crump and Nicole Cuglewski emceed the event, which featured cocktails, fabulous food, a silent auction and pre-show entertainment by the Scream Team and the Cavalier Girls. The "Big Shots and Little Treasures" silent auction included the players autographed shoes filled with jerseys and game tickets, as well as unique packages offered by Fathead, Kahalari Resorts, the Cleveland Browns and many more. The newly expanded and redesigned Cavaliers Team Shop also donated a portion of its total sales. More than 800 guests attended the memorable occasion. Flashes of Hope is a national nonprofit that changes the way children with cancer see themselves through the gift of photography and raises money for pediatric cancer research. Every month volunteers transform the outpatient clinics and hospital floors into professional photography studios. Families receive a generous portrait portfolio and a CD of all the images taken. All service are provided free of charge. Since its inception in 2001, Flashes of Hope has provided portrait packages to over 15,000 families all across the country! This summer alone, over 3,000 children were photographed at camps across the country. In 2010, Flashes of Hope will photograph 50% of the children annually diagnosed with cancer in 60 locations across the United States. The Children's Tumor Foundation (CTF) is a non-profit medical foundation, dedicated to improving the health and well being of individuals and families affected by the neurofibromatoses (NF).
