Game Quotes, November 17th: Monsters 5, Marlies 3

Head Coach Joe Sacco

(On the team being on a roll) “We have played well the last seven games, tonight being the eighth game in a row. We got off to that slow start, which we would obviously like to put behind us. The team has done a good job rebounding and buying into this system we are putting together here.”

(On Chris Stewart’s performance tonight) “Stewie has a lot of talent, he’s a young player, only 20-years old. It has been a big adjustment for him in the AHL. He makes a lot of plays and has a lot of skill. He’s learning everything as a first-year guy. There’s a lot of upside for him and the potential for him is very promising.”

(On Jason Bacashihua’s performance in goal) “Jason played extremely well again. He gave us a chance to win, he was solid in the pipes. I thought we did a decent job eliminating some of their shots. When we have a goaltender like Jason, it obviously helps us big.”

Right wing Chris Stewart
(On his confidence) “It was a huge monkey off my back, I just tried to play my role on the team. I was able to use my hockey sense to get some goals, and achieve the hat trick.”

(On his teammates’ role in his success) “Eric Healey and Cody Burki both played hard out there and made big plays also. We were +3 as a line. That made it a big confidence booster for us.”

Defender Ray Macias

(On his goal tonight) “It feels very good, it broke the ice for me. Hopefully there is more to come.”

(On the team’s chemistry) “We’re doing pretty good and we have to keep rolling.”

(On scoring as a defender) “It is always nice to get offense from your defense.”

(On Bacashihua) “He has been very solid for us, making the big saves when we need them.”

(On the support of the home fans) “The fans were a huge support tonight, they’re going to be a key factor of what we will do here at The Q each night.”
